Since 2014 Devil’s Cave Vineyard has been supplying barrel racks to many wineries throughout the Australian wine industry.
Winemaker Steve Johnson spent over 40 years in the steel fabrication industry working as the second-generation owner of Easytow Boat Trailers. He and winemaker Luke Lomax have been collaborating to build wine barrel racks to the highest standard and needs of the Australian Wine Industry – Luke knows what the wineries need and Steve knows how to build the most superior barrel racks.
Together they have created Devil’s Racks.
Our Barrel Racks offer a state-of-the-art wine barrel storage system with a high level of safety. The racks are easy to manage and manoeuvre and allow winemakers to utilise maximum barrel room floor space.
Compared to tradition barrel rack systems, the Barrel Racks carry no direct weight on the barrel as each is supported by a four-post interlocking system to ensure stacks are safe and secure. Each rack supports the weight of the rack above it therefore the barrel itself is not bearing any direct weight.
Buyers have the option of Hot Dip Galvanisation post manufacturing or
Pre-galvanised steel (Duragal) to reduce costs
Large format barrel racks come with a rotating option to ease handling when rolling barrels over to empty position

All barrel racks are engineered to ensure they meet Australian standards. It is by obligation that Devils Rack’s Pty Ltd cannot safely specify to a customer how high their barrel racking can be stacked due to unknown key factors, ie. Floor gradients, concrete rating, outdoor elements, forklift capacity etc. It is therefore recommended customers are to seek engineering advice relevant to their cellar/warehouse conditions.
